Some of our best family outings were at Mill Dam Resort. Recently my sister came upon the Mill Dam Resort website online. She checked into them, and we booked quickly before they booked up since we needed so many at once.
When I called to confirm our reservations for the trip there, I want to give a huge thanks to Ron for helping to get it all straightened out so quickly. He even managed to have all our cabins next to one another, which was great since it made it convent to keep a close eye on our 80 yr old parents.
The cabins looked great! The new decks and BBQ grills looked awesome! You could definitely tell there had been renovations to them. Flat screen TVs and updated furniture definitely helped with the inside of the cabins. The pavilion was perfect for our gatherings for dinners and chit chat.
The guys had a great time fishing. We brought up our small boat, and we're able to dock it on lake front by our cabin. The made a huge convenience for them. My son brought his kayak, and we all had a blast taking turns using it. The new stairs down to the lake were great! Even my 80yr old parents were able to come down to lake using them.
I have to say the highlight of our stay was Saturday, our last night there. The local residents were having karaoke in the pavilion. After we got back from dinner across the street we stopped by. I have to tell you what a blast all of us had ….my 7 year old son did not leave Scott's side for over 2 hours. Scott was so good with him… He allowed Ben to be his assistant DJ for the night. All of the residents who came out included us right in their activity as if we were there every week instead of dropping in on them. They made us feel as if we were part of the of their crew. Scott did such a great job as the DJ. Even my 80 year mom got up and sang. Although, I myself do not like singing in front of others, got up and belted it out. We made a lot of new friends, and could not have asked for a better last night at Mill Dam.
The kids ( who range from 7 to 21) all had a great time. We still talk about past trips there, and this trip will also be talked about for many years. I'm so glad and grateful that Mill Dam Resort is up and running with such a great staff! Funds, like for everyone, are tight and Mill Dam is a great place for family memories that is reasonably priced to make it affordable even for a family of 6. We are now talking about our next trip up…..or maybe even a larger family reunion of all the clan.
